Online chatter is buzzing with new details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows following the alleged leak of an artbook. The "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook, spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, has rapidly spread across the internet. This extensive collection boasts hundreds of pages showcasing concept art, quotes from the development team, and revealing insights into the next Assassin's Creed installment.
The leak's origin story is particularly unusual, reportedly stemming from a website known for hosting hentai content. This unexpected source has added a layer of intrigue to the situation. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment. While the original gallery has been removed from the source site, archived versions are circulating on other file-sharing platforms.

The leaked artbook offers glimpses of concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a diverse array of weaponry. The artwork also appears to reveal potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's official release, the leaked images appear authentic.
This leak emerges just before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay that shifted its release from 2024 to February.
At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director Charles Benoit. He confirmed the month-long delay was primarily focused on polishing the game, without altering core gameplay systems. Benoit mentioned some adjustments to progression and balancing, but the parkour system received the most significant attention. The unique challenges presented by Feudal Japan's architecture proved demanding.
"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," Benoit explained. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
