Stellar Blade's Summer Update Increased Player CountMany Players Wanted a Summer Getaway
TrueTrophies' partnership with GameInsights provided them access to a sample data of over 3.1 million active PSN accounts. This allowed them to track how many players are playing in every PS5 and PS4 game. Using this data, they found out that Stellar Blade’s player count significantly increased by 40.14% after the release of its summer update.
It is also important to note that Stellar Blade was not on sale in the PS store last week, indicating that the player count spike is most likely attributed to new content. Despite the absence of the highly anticipated photo mode and the time-sensitive nature of the update, the increase proves sufficient enough to reignite fan interest.
The summer update for Stellar Blade introduced a limited-time summer vacation area at the Great Desert Oasis, complete with new background music and interaction with the sunbed. Two outfits were also added to match the update’s theme, which is available from Clyde’s shop. It also addressed several issues, including the fix for the hair color in the Boss Challenge Preset, along with other bug fixes.
Stellar Blade was exclusively released on PS5 last April 26, 2024. The game was positively received by players and critics due to its fast-paced combat and stunning visuals. While some might find the summer update underwhelming, the community’s response is quite positive. Many players eagerly returned to the game, ready to enjoy a summer getaway.
