Kyrylo Burlaka, an independent game developer, has unveiled his latest project, Fracture Point, a thrilling roguelike first-person shooter. Set in a realistic dystopian metropolis, the game features procedurally generated levels and integrates looter shooter mechanics amidst a backdrop of a war between a powerful corporation and the resistance.
In Fracture Point, players ascend the corporation's skyscraper, scavenging for gear and loot to upgrade their character as they progress floor by floor. The gameplay involves intense battles against mercenaries, direct confrontations with security forces, and challenging boss fights. Fracture Point evokes memories of Criterion's iconic PS2-era first-person shooter, Black. After watching the trailer, you might draw similar comparisons. When I discussed this with Burlaka, he acknowledged, "Criterion's games were a significant part of my gaming experience growing up," suggesting that the influence is indeed intentional.
If you're eager to stay updated on Fracture Point's development and want to play it as soon as it's released, you can wishlist it on Steam.
