Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Coming March 2025, this unique device will be available at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Latest Announcement: Alarmo's Expanded Release
More Than Just an Alarm Clock
Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (though we understand the excitement!). Nintendo's announcement focuses on the broader availability of Alarmo. Starting in March, you'll find it at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers. No more Nintendo Online membership required—everyone can join the fun! Get ready to wake up to the sounds of your favorite Nintendo games for $99.99 USD.
While many celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 remains high. Nintendo, however, remains tight-lipped on any official announcements regarding their next-generation console.
Initial Release: An Instant Hit
Alarmo's popularity was immediate. Just one day after its October 9th, 2024 launch, it sold out in many locations. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to overwhelming demand. New York City also experienced a quick sell-out, with retailers promising updates on restocking.
Wake Up to the World of Nintendo
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring sounds and visuals from beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it offers 42 selectable scenes with more promised via free updates (think Animal Crossing: New Horizons!). Choose your scene, and watch a character patiently wait on the screen until your alarm gently wakes you. A friendly visitor then appears, and you can even wave or move to quiet the alarm! Persistent sleepers will encounter a more "persuasive" visitor and a more insistent alarm—guaranteed to get you out of bed! The motion sensor ensures you can turn off the alarm without touching the device.
Beyond its unique wake-up call, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. For those sharing a bed with others or pets, the Button Mode is recommended. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this requirement will be removed with the expanded release in March 2025.
