In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you primarily play as the Wanderer, striving for peace. Your journey offers significant choices, and companions frequently join you in battle. While they fight alongside you, occasionally you can take direct control. These companions are incredibly powerful, often surpassing the Wanderer in effectiveness, even with his upgrades. Here's how to switch:
How To Switch Characters In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Switching to a companion is only possible during battles where a companion is present. Before a battle, the war council menu shows your companion as the final option; you can choose to fight alone, but not select a different companion beforehand. Once the battle begins, your companion's health bar appears below yours in the bottom right corner.
Beneath their health bar is a blue bar, similar to your Musou gauge. This fills as you fight, accelerating with actions like:
- Parrying attacks
- Perfect dodging
- Assaulting Officers
- Utilizing Weapon Arts
Most combat actions contribute, albeit at varying speeds.
A full blue bar activates the "Change Character" button. Press and hold this button for a second to switch. This is the View button on Xbox, C on PC, or the Touchpad on PlayStation.
Playing As Other Characters In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Switching characters is best reserved for intense moments of combat. Companions are exceptionally powerful, and control is typically limited to about a minute. The blue bar, once full, begins to deplete, indicating the remaining time. Your new character starts with full Bravery and access to highly effective combat arts.
The character switch initiates with a powerful attack; aim carefully! Your companion retains their own filled Musou and health bars, ready to unleash their special attack.
