Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action game, formerly known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back with a new name and release date! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this brawling, parkour-filled adventure is set to launch in 2025, with a pre-alpha test slated for January.
Based on the popular webcomic, The Hidden Ones follows Zhang Chulan, a young martial artist who discovers his grandfather's techniques are highly sought after in the martial arts world. He's thrust into a world where his skills are in high demand, and those skills are not easily relinquished.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive 3D martial arts combat, including energy projectile usage, dynamic dodging, and exhilarating parkour sequences across cityscapes, featuring both Zhang Chulan and the secondary protagonist, Wang Ye.
A Darker Take on Kung-Fu
Information on The Hidden Ones has been scarce, adding to the intrigue surrounding its multiple names. However, initial impressions suggest a high-quality title. The game's grittier, darker aesthetic sets it apart from other 3D ARPGs, offering a more grounded and intense experience.
The game's success hinges on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material. However, the blend of intense kung-fu action and parkour promises a unique and compelling experience.
