How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to Fields of Mistria, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily farm management. This guide explains how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of varying sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines in Fields of Mistria. While initially found while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, these chests can appear on any level and in various biomes. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—they'll inflict damage upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If your search proves fruitless, you can craft them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in Fields of Mistria allows for Essence Stone crafting. This structure is part of a new questline introduced in the March 2025 update, requiring its construction within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The required quantities vary depending on the stone's size:

Tiny Essence Stone	x5 Stone x5 Essence
Small Essence Stone	x10 Stone x25 Essence
Medium Essence Stone	x20 Stone x50 Essence
Large Essence Stone	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery produces various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub for new projects.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol's house (requires Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, unlocked with the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. This statue (and its crafting scroll) is located on a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse (requires Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can also be crafted.

Future updates from NPC Studio will likely expand the uses of Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria.
