The success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* continues to soar, with the game now selling an impressive 2 million copies in less than two weeks. Developer Warhorse Studios celebrated this milestone on Twitter, describing it as a "triumph" following their earlier announcement of reaching 1 million sales just a day after its launch.
This remarkable achievement underscores the strong reception of Warhorse Studios' medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel, which hit the shelves on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
Last week, Embracer, the parent company of Warhorse Studios, highlighted that *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. This is a significant leap from the first *Kingdom Come: Deliverance*, which peaked at 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.
It's important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is likely higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. However, player numbers from Sony and Microsoft remain undisclosed.
Embracer, through its subsidiary Plaion, praised the game's initial success, noting its positive reception from both players and critics, as well as its strong performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors commended the dedication and hard work of Warhorse Studios and their publisher, Deep Silver.
"It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*," Wingefors stated. He also mentioned Warhorse Studios' robust roadmap, which includes updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring an engaging and continuously evolving experience for the community.
"We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far," Wingefors added.
Looking ahead, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*'s post-launch roadmap is packed with exciting content. In 2025, players can expect three expansions. The spring will bring free updates, including a Barbers feature with additional customization options, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will see the release of the first paid content, *Brushes with Death*, where protagonist Henry aids an enigmatic artist with a shadowy past. Autumn will introduce *Legacy of the Forge*, delving into Henry's past and his adoptive father Martin's history. Finally, winter will unveil *Mysteria Ecclesia*, sending Henry on a covert mission to navigate the complex dynamics of the Sedlec Monastery.
