KEMCO's new roguelite, Novel Rogue, is now available on Android! This pixel-art fantasy JRPG features card deck-building, magic, and strategic combat within captivating storylines.
Players assume the role of Wright, an apprentice under the Witch of Portals, Yuisil, in the Ancient Library. Wright embarks on adventures through four magical books, each transporting him to a unique world. One book involves aiding a princess knight in reclaiming her kingdom; another delves into the mysteries of the underworld. Choices significantly impact these worlds, ensuring replayability.
Gameplay:
Novel Rogue utilizes a turn-based card battle system, adapting to the book currently explored. Each of the four worlds offers a distinct deck-building mechanic. Players defeat enemies, select three new cards post-battle, and craft their optimal deck.
Strategic elements include a "Change" command for managing damage amongst allies, and "Novel Power," which enhances decks using ink. For a challenge, "Deep Record" mode significantly increases dungeon difficulty.
Relationship building is key; collected treasures boost character relationships, potentially unlocking special endings. Aesthetic customization is provided via Witch Stones, allowing costume changes.
Novel Rogue is free on the Google Play Store, with a premium version offering 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional benefits like ad removal.
