Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his anticipated RTS-lite game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This new title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 game, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles Frenken's original vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces dynamic RTS battle mechanics, offering players the freedom to maneuver units across the battlefield. Players will directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance gameplay.
Players will amass an army using in-game currency, creating units initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, extensive customization is possible. Players can equip units with a variety of weapons and armor, each impacting stats such as range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
These items aren't found through exploration; instead, they are crafted within the player's village. Gathering resources like wood, leather, and coal is essential for crafting at the blacksmith, magician, and other village specialists.
Frenken's previous success, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, bodies, crops, and farm animals.
iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news on Battledom, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
