Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: A Festive Extravaganza!
Get ready to ring in 2025 with Pokémon GO's annual New Year's event, running from December 30th to January 1st! This year's celebration promises themed bonuses, exciting Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to start the new year in style.
Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, the New Year's festivities begin a week later. Prepare for a flurry of activities!
This year's event offers a special bonus: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn a whopping 2,025 XP each! Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with New Year's decorations and celebratory fireworks illuminating the skies.
Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon sporting holiday attire. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and a party-hat-wearing Wurmple—and their Shiny variants!
Raids are also decked out for the occasion. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are boosted for all three!
For quest enthusiasts, numerous Field Research and Timed Research tasks offer additional Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) provides exclusive rewards, including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
