The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025
IGN Fan Fest 2025 brought an exclusive premiere date reveal for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2: May 4, 2025. The announcement included an exclusive clip and interviews with key cast and crew.
Lauren Cohen, who plays Maggie, offered insight into Maggie's emotional state heading into the new season: "Sadly, not everything is as rosy as one might hope," she stated. "Navigating family life amidst the apocalypse presents relatable domestic challenges – teenage son, teenage girl in my care – all while trying to survive. This sets the stage before the next major conflict."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, portraying Negan, discussed his character's precarious position: "Negan is firmly under the control of The Dama and The Croat, in unfamiliar territory," he explained. "He'll scheme to regain control, but he's in a tough spot, struggling at the season's start." Morgan also reflected on Negan's iconic barbed-wire bat, Lucille: "I love that prop! It brings back fond memories – though not for Lauren!"
Scott Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe, shed light on the season's overarching conflict: "There's no single big bad. The power dynamics shift throughout the season. It's complex, political, and ultimately, physical."
