Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change
Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode. A January 3rd update introduced alterations to zombie spawn delays in Directed Mode, prompting significant negative feedback from the community. This update extended the time between rounds and increased the delay between zombie spawns after five looped rounds on round 15, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion.
In response to this backlash, the January 9th update completely reversed the spawn delay changes, restoring it to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Treyarch acknowledged the previous adjustment was not well-received and prioritized restoring a more enjoyable and rewarding Zombies experience.
Beyond the reversal, the update includes:
-
Citadelle des Morts Fixes: Numerous bug fixes were implemented for the Citadelle des Morts map within Directed Mode, addressing issues with quest progression, guidance inaccuracies, and visual glitches. A crash issue related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud was also resolved.
-
Shadow Rift Buffs: The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs, increasing activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment). The cooldown timer was also significantly reduced by 25%.
Further updates are planned for January 28th with the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 2. This will include additional bug fixes and adjustments, such as addressing the Vermin double-attack bug.
Other notable changes in the January 9th update:
-
Global Changes: Fixes for Maya's "Joyride" Operator Skin visibility, UI issues in the Events tab, and audio problems with in-game event milestone banners.
-
Multiplayer Changes: Increased XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode and various stability improvements.
-
Zombies LTM Adjustments: The Dead Light, Green Light Limited Time Mode (LTM) received updates, adding Liberty Falls to the map selection and increasing the round cap to 20.
