High-Quality USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Display
To utilize your device as a portable display for a camera, gaming console, laptop, PC, or other HDMI output devices, you'll require an HDMI to USB C dongle (also known as a UVC capture device or video capture card, not a USB C hub or USB C to HDMI cable). Cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are also supported. Noir supports UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, providing options between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version offers basic functionality and an immersive experience (with ads present but not in the preview). Purchase the pro version for additional features and to support the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

FAQ
Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
- Possible reasons: Your phone or tablet may not support USB Host (OTG), or the device you're using is not a video capture card. In some cases, your phone or tablet may not provide sufficient power for the capture card, requiring a USB hub for additional power.
Why is the preview so laggy?
- This is often due to the USB version. If using a USB 3.0 capture card, ensure the USB data cable and USB port on your phone or tablet are both USB 3.0. If using a USB 2.0 capture card, ensure the video format is MJPEG and does not exceed 1080p30fps specifications. Some capture cards support up to 1080p50fps.
Why did my previously working capture card suddenly fail to connect?
- This is often caused by system issues. The simplest solution is to restart your phone or tablet and try again.
Why does my gaming console or video playback device show a black screen when connected?
- This issue is common among PS5 and PS4 users and is caused by the gaming console enabling HDCP. Navigate to the PS console interface: Settings -> System -> HDMI, and disable Enable HDCP. PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices may also automatically enable HDCP when playing video content, resulting in a black screen. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP restrictions and may serve as a solution; however, this is not recommended here. Please research this independently.
Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
- To my knowledge, no capture cards on the market support aspect ratios other than these. You can specify the desired ratio through Noir's built-in Stretch feature. This requires your capture card's EDID to support the ratio, and you must set your laptop or computer's output resolution to that ratio.
