Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the first installment of its new narrative adventure. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching freely for all purchasers on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close-knit group of friends shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specters of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Blending elements reminiscent of It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly weaves together nostalgia and psychological thriller elements. The game's structure is divided into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." Currently, only "Bloom," the first half of this captivating mystery, is available (February 18th release).
"The Tape," encompassing the second part, will debut on April 15th. Initially planned for March, the release was delayed to allow for additional refinement.
The review embargo has been lifted, with OpenCritic reporting an average score of 74/100—a promising start for this suspenseful narrative.
