Subtitles are a fantastic accessibility feature, but not everyone's cup of tea. Need to toggle them on or off in Avowed? Here's how.
Avowed presents subtitle options early on, but you can easily change your mind later. There are actually two places to adjust subtitle settings:
Navigate to the "Settings" menu, then find either the "UI" or "Accessibility" tabs. Look for "Conversation Subtitles" and "Chatter Subtitles" and adjust them to your liking. While the "Accessibility" tab offers the clearest path, either works.
Why Some Players Disable Subtitles
While I personally rely on subtitles, many find them distracting. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference. Use them if you need or prefer them; disable them if you don't.
Avowed's Accessibility Features
Avowed's accessibility options, while not exhaustive, cover the basics. You can customize subtitle size, background opacity, and display duration for improved readability.
Beyond subtitles, options to minimize motion sickness (reducing camera shake and head bobbing) are included. Additional features offer aim assist adjustments, toggleable crouch/sprint, and other helpful tweaks for broader player accessibility.
That's how to manage subtitles in Avowed. Enjoy!
Avowed is available now.
