Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap
Looking back on the year? Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature makes it easy. Unlike detailed year-end summaries from other apps, Snap Recap offers a fun, curated slideshow of your 2024 memories.
What is Snap Recap?
New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snaps into a highlight reel. It doesn't focus on statistics; instead, it randomly selects a Snap from each month. This nostalgic journey often seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, showing flashbacks from the same dates in previous years.
How to View Your Snap Recap
Accessing your recap is simple:
- On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button).
- Your 2024 Snap Recap will be a prominent video at the top of the Memories menu.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to watch. The slideshow auto-plays, but you can tap to advance. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you share it.
Why Don't I Have a Recap?
If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat Support explains that the rollout is gradual. The feature's availability depends on several factors, including the number of Snaps saved. Inconsistent Snapchat use might also prevent a recap from being generated. Unfortunately, you can't request one if it doesn't appear.
