Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1
Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might skip the current generation and head straight to the next. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, and later confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox, the game's future on the original Switch was in question. However, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) on April 8 to clarify these concerns. Griffin reassured fans that Silksong will indeed be released on both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
While specifics on how these versions will differ remain under wraps, players can anticipate that the game will benefit from higher resolutions and enhanced features on the Switch 2.
New Silksong Images Revealed
Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, new images of Silksong were showcased on Nintendo Japan's official website. Although the settings in these images are familiar from earlier reveals, fans have noted subtle graphical enhancements since the game's initial unveiling in 2019.
Despite Team Cherry's reticence on many details about Silksong, the game's appearance during the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images hint at an impending announcement regarding its release date. Recent updates to Silksong's Steam metadata have further fueled fans' hopes for a release this year.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
