Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is celebrating the new year with festivities in Pokémon Go, kicking off a series of events that includes Fidough Fetch and the Sprigatito Community Day. But before that, there's a special treat for trainers.
The Eggs-pedition Access is launching January 1st and running throughout the month. For $4.99, this paid event unlocks numerous bonuses to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st. This includes a significant upgrade to your Gift system, allowing you to store more Gifts, open more daily, and collect more from PokéStops.

What's in Store for the New Year's 2025 Event?
The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, there's still plenty of festive fun.
Expect to find wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats—all with boosted Shiny rates. Bonuses include increased XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks. Raids will feature special Pokémon like a snowflake-hatted Pikachu and party-hatted Raticate and Wobbuffet, also with increased Shiny odds. Keep an eye out for themed encounters in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
