Due to unexpectedly high demand, Nintendo has delayed the general release of its Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially scheduled for February 2025, the launch is now postponed indefinitely.
This decision follows a surge in popularity that quickly depleted stock. While the global launch remains on track for March 2025, Japanese customers will now have to pre-order the Alarmo. This pre-order system, exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, begins mid-December with shipments slated for early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date is pending.
The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring music from popular Nintendo franchises (Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, RingFit Adventure, and more via future updates), launched globally in October. Its immediate success caught Nintendo off guard, leading to the halt of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. Both online and physical stock in Japan (and even the New York Nintendo store) quickly sold out.
Further updates on pre-orders and the general sale resumption will be announced soon.
