Get ready to unleash your inner demon hunter! Netflix is bringing the electrifying world of Devil May Cry to life in an all-new anime series, and a brand-new trailer has just dropped to whet our appetites. Even more exciting? The legendary Kevin Conroy lends his voice to the series posthumously.
Conroy, forever celebrated as the iconic voice of Batman, takes on the role of VP Baines, a new character whose voiceover graces the beginning of the sneak peek. This marks another opportunity for fans to cherish Conroy's unforgettable talent following his passing in November 2022. His posthumous performance in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 earlier this year was widely praised, making this new appearance all the more special. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as the legendary Dante himself.
According to Netflix, the series synopsis teases: “Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like Dredd and Killing Them Softly, serves as showrunner. He’s also slated to executive produce a Assassin’s Creed adaptation, though its future remains uncertain. The animation will be handled by Studio Mir, the South Korean studio behind acclaimed series like The Legend of Korra and X-Men ’97.
Devil May Cry premieres on Netflix April 3, 2025.
