NetherRealm and WB Games have released the official gameplay trailer for the T-1000, arriving in Mortal Kombat 1 next Tuesday. This liquid metal assassin offers a unique playstyle, creatively dodging projectiles with his shape-shifting abilities. Fans of Kabal, absent from this iteration, will likely find much to love in the T-1000, as several of Kabal's signature moves and weapons have been incorporated.
The trailer is packed with nods to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, including a recreation of the iconic finger-wagging scene (a gesture famously banned in the NBA for unsportsmanlike conduct!). The T-1000 even asks Johnny Cage if he's seen John Connor, adding another layer of cinematic authenticity.
Alongside the T-1000, the trailer also showcased Madam Bo, who will be added to the game simultaneously. The T-1000's Fatality is particularly brutal, showcasing his ability to transform and replace his victim—a chillingly efficient method of mission completion.
While no further announcements were made by WB Games, speculation is rife that this might be the final wave of DLC for MK1, with a potential new game announcement on the horizon. However, this remains unconfirmed.
