Captain America: Brave New World clocks in as the shortest Captain America film, and one of the shortest MCU films overall.
AMC Theatres announced a runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes, placing it among the few MCU films under two hours, and the seventh shortest (out of 35) in the franchise. This contrasts sharply with the previous three Captain America films, all exceeding two hours.
While most shorter MCU films hail from Phases 1 and 2, several exceptions have emerged recently. The shortest MCU film is 2022's The Marvels at 1 hour and 45 minutes, followed by The Incredible Hulk, Thor: The Dark World, Thor, Doctor Strange, and Ant-Man.

Brave New World, alongside Ant-Man and The Wasp (also 1 hour and 58 minutes), is next on the release schedule. In comparison, the longest MCU film is Avengers: Endgame at 3 hours and 1 minute, followed by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Eternals, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Despite its imminent February 14th release, Brave New World reportedly underwent extensive rewrites and reshoots (including scenes featuring WWE star Seth Rollins), although the impact on the final runtime remains unclear.
This first Captain America film post-Chris Evans features Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson. Mackie has described it as a grounded espionage thriller, continuing the series' established legacy.
The film is also expected to incorporate lesser-known Marvel characters, including a payoff to a tease from The Incredible Hulk, through the introduction of The Leader. Red Hulk is also set to appear.
