Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained silent on updates for the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While co-head Chad Dezern confirmed a busy future with "great projects and a really ambitious roadmap," details about Wolverine's release remain under wraps. A 2025 release window was neither confirmed nor denied, highlighting the studio's commitment to keeping the excitement building.
Wolverine's Development and Shared Universe
Initially announced at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed in a 2023 interview that the game shares a universe with Marvel's Spider-Man ("they're all in 1048"), fueling fan speculation about potential crossovers. So far, the only confirmed crossover is a Wolverine-themed suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
A security breach in December 2023 briefly exposed Wolverine's development assets and gameplay footage to the public.
Insomniac's Current Projects and Future Plans
With Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launching on PC January 30, 2025 (as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025), Insomniac clarified that no further DLC is planned for the title. The PC port, however, will include all post-release updates. Two versions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition.
