Revamped Team-Up Skills

Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed exciting news about team-up skill adjustments in a March 14th interview with PC Gamer. He confirmed that Season 2 will introduce brand new team-up skills alongside tweaks to existing ones. This, coupled with overall balance adjustments, promises a completely refreshed combat experience.

Currently, the game boasts 17 team-up skills, including popular pairings like Hela's Ragnarok Rebirth, Cloak & Dagger's Lunar Force, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. Balancing these skills with the game's expanding roster will be a significant challenge for NetEase.

Hero Balancing: A Continuous Effort

Chen also shed light on the team's approach to hero balancing, a crucial aspect with the game's ever-growing roster. He explained that data analysis plays a key role, focusing on win rates, pick rates, damage dealt and taken, and final blows across various game modes and skill levels. Community feedback is also heavily considered in their balancing decisions.

In a previous January interview with Metro, Chen hinted at the addition of a new hero every half-season. With seasons lasting approximately three months, this translates to eight new heroes annually. This rapid expansion presents a constant balancing act for the development team.

Looking ahead, Chen confirmed that Season 2 content is finalized and ready for launch. Furthermore, Seasons 3 and 4 designs are complete and in active development. This demonstrates NetEase's long-term commitment to Marvel Rivals, aligning with their previously stated goal of supporting the game for ten years and beyond.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced on March 18th via the official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account that two highly anticipated skins are dropping on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man gets a futuristic makeover with "Spider-Punk 2099," featuring a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin boasts a steampunk aesthetic with impressive exhaust pipes and a fiery furnace on his chest.

These skins were previously showcased during the game's closed beta and have been eagerly awaited by fans. Their release follows the recent addition of Loki's Presidential attire, another beta favorite. While the release date is set, pricing details remain undisclosed.
