Marvel Rivals Season 1: Free Skins and New Characters
Season 1 of NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," has launched with a surprise: free Peni Parker and Scarlet Witch skins available in the battle pass! Dracula's attack on New York City, following a Doctor Strange capture, sets the stage for the Fantastic Four's heroic intervention. The season runs from January 10th to April 11th, 2025.
The Fantastic Four are joining the fray, with Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debuting at launch. Human Torch and The Thing are slated for a mid-season update, potentially filling the Duelist and Vanguard roles respectively (though this is unconfirmed).
Players can earn free cosmetic rewards, including the Peni Parker's Blue Tarantula skin (page 3 of the battle pass) and Scarlet Witch's Emporium Matron skin (page 9). While the Scarlet Witch skin includes a free emote, her MVP animation requires the premium battle pass (990 Lattice, approximately $10). A separate Midnight Features event offers a free Thor skin through quest completion.
The in-game shop features new premium skins for Invisible Woman ("Malice," a black and red villainous design) and Mister Fantastic ("The Maker," a dark gray and blue design). The abundance of new content has generated significant excitement among Marvel Rivals players.
