Lies of P DLC and Sequel Announced: A Director's Letter Reveals New Content and Future Plans
Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently shared exciting news with fans, offering a heartfelt thank you and a sneak peek at upcoming content for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game. The message serves as both an anniversary celebration and a tantalizing preview of what's to come.
A Glimpse into the DLC
One year after Lies of P's release, developer NEOWIZ unveiled Choi's letter, expressing gratitude to the community and revealing details about the upcoming DLC. The team, according to Choi, worked tirelessly through Korea's summer heat to bring this expansion to life, fueled by the passionate support of its players. The DLC promises to expand upon the base game's strengths while addressing previously reported issues.
"Our goal for the Lies of P DLC and sequel is to refine our successes and improve where we can grow," Choi stated. He also extended his appreciation to Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The most significant reveal came at the letter's conclusion: Choi shared a piece of concept art depicting P in a snowy location, gazing towards a lighthouse. This mysterious setting hints at a new, challenging chapter in P's journey.
A new musical piece from the DLC's soundtrack was also included. While labeled "new," the track, "Lisrim," was originally composed by "onoken" in 2022. NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the original and the adapted version. The accompanying music video, reminiscent of the game's style, shows a character with a clockwork weapon rescuing a captive girl.
DLC Release and Future Plans
While a specific release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch during the second half of 2024. The DLC will be released alongside four other NEOWIZ titles:
- The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
- Cats & Soup: Malang Town
- Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe
- Project IG
Previously released concept art showcased two distinct environments: an imposing industrial facility and a treacherous shipwreck.
Choi concluded his message by assuring fans that their anticipation will be rewarded. Importantly, he confirmed that the DLC is only the beginning; a full sequel is also in development. Players eager for more Lies of P adventures will need to exercise patience, but the future looks bright for this captivating Soulslike title.
