Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for being part of a potential BioShock movie, citing the game as one of his all-time favorites. During a Reddit AMA, which coincided with the release of his new film, "Novocaine," Quaid highlighted the rich lore of BioShock, suggesting it could be well-suited for a TV or movie adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," he stated. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
However, the realization of a BioShock movie remains uncertain. Producer Roy Lee mentioned last July that due to leadership changes, the project has been "reconfigured" to create a "more personal" film. This shift comes in response to lower budgets from Netflix, though specific plot details remain undisclosed. Despite these changes, Francis Lawrence, known for directing "The Hunger Games," is still set to helm the project. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we're doing a much smaller version. It's going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
In the same Reddit session, Quaid acknowledged the frequent comparisons to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is inspired by Remedy writer Sam Lake. Some fans have even mistaken scenes from "Novocaine" for a Max Payne adaptation due to Quaid's resemblance to the character. "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take," Quaid admitted. "I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately, I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond BioShock, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware games, having completed titles like Bloodborne and Sekiro, and currently tackling Elden Ring. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he shared. "And lately, I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
