Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered enhances the moment-to-moment action gameplay while also offering extensive weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor one outfit for stealth missions around machines, and another for excelling in melee or ranged combat. However, there are moments when you'll wish to combine the effects of multiple outfits. Fortunately, this is possible within certain limits, and this guide will walk you through the process.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the benefits of using two outfits simultaneously, you must play the Remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. This version includes a recent patch that introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of functionality.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits, it's important to note that this technique is not compatible with all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for your primary stats, the secondary outfit must be one of the following three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)
These outfits become accessible only within the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you cannot apply this method at the start of the game. Thankfully, you don't need to finish the base game to access the DLC.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Begin by reaching the expansion area by defeating the new machine. If this proves challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant, identified by a blue Merchant icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
To acquire the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this challenging mission, or lower the difficulty to Story mode to unlock the outfit more easily. The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you can stop progressing in the Frozen Wilds content if you choose.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping your preferred outfit with the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats using Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to adopt the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits mentioned. Although these outfits don't add to your stats, they provide an automatic healing effect after you take damage for a short period.
This method lets you retain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you're using the Shield Weaver as your primary outfit, you become nearly invincible due to its damage resistance, with the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk activating when you do take damage.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates more quickly than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so prioritize these if available.
