After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or a miller. While the blacksmith job is optional for attending the wedding, its map marker conveniently leads you to the Dogwood Village Bow. This makes it an easy detour even if you choose the miller route. Note that if you choose the blacksmith path, you’ll also have the opportunity to obtain the hermit's sword later on.
The blacksmith's location is in Tachov, north of Troskowitz—where the prologue concludes and the game world opens up. Follow the westward path out of Troskowitz, then continue north. At the fork in the road, where a smaller path branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable cluster conceals a small training area.

Within this area, you'll find a target riddled with arrows—free ammo for the taking! To the right of the target, leaning against a tree trunk, rests the Dogwood Village Bow. While you're there, grab some brew from the nearby stump and collect any mushrooms you find. Once you've gathered your supplies, you can continue with your quest.

While you can purchase the Dogwood Village Bow from Huntsman’s Son Vitek in Tachov, it's not the most powerful ranged weapon and isn't worth the cost when a free version is readily available. If you lack ranged options, obtaining the free bow is strongly recommended. However, Vitek also sells superior weapons, and you can supplement your funds through alchemy by collecting herbs and selling potions.
Whether you choose the free bow or pursue other weaponry, having a ranged combat option is a significant advantage, especially if you prefer not to adjust the game's difficulty. *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*'s combat, while similar to the first game, may not suit all playstyles. For those who prefer ranged combat, this bow provides a valuable early advantage.
After acquiring the bow, you can proceed to Tachov to become a blacksmith (remember to save after forging a sword), or continue to the miller to advance the main quest. With a ranged weapon at your disposal, you'll find combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* considerably easier.
That's how to acquire the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Enjoy!
