Forza Horizon 5, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, is making its way to PlayStation!
Playground Games surprised fans with the announcement that Forza Horizon 5 will be available on PS5 this spring. This follows the trend of Xbox exclusives arriving on PlayStation, mirroring the releases of Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version boasts identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This strategic move reflects Xbox's expanding interest in multi-platform releases, encompassing PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed support for the upcoming Switch 2.
Recent financial reports shed light on Microsoft's gaming strategy. While Indiana Jones and the Great Circle achieved 4 million players, and PC Game Pass saw a 30% surge, boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue declined due to a near 30% drop in console sales. This shift might encourage Xbox to prioritize Game Pass and broaden its game availability across different platforms.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the beloved open-world racing series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 invites players to race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. You can find our comprehensive review here.
