The popular Kinetic Blade, a returning favorite from Chapter 4 Season 2, is back in Fortnite Battle Royale for Chapter 6 Season 1, also known as Fortnite Hunters. This isn't the only katana in the game though; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the newly introduced Typhoon Blade.
This guide will cover how to find and use the Kinetic Blade, helping you decide if it's the right melee weapon for your playstyle.
How to Find the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. You'll find it as floor loot or inside regular and rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's drop rate seems relatively low. The absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) further reduces its availability.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon designed for swift attacks. Its unique dash attack lets you quickly close the distance on opponents, dealing 60 damage upon impact. This dash can be used up to three times before needing a recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and sends opponents flying. A well-timed Knockback Slash can lead to significant fall damage, potentially eliminating your opponent.
