FromSoftware Sends Elden Ring: Nightreign Playtest Confirmation Emails
Selected Players Receive Confirmation Emails
On January 30th, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter (X) that confirmation emails for the Elden Ring: Nightreign network test had been sent. Excited fans quickly shared their confirmations, expressing their anticipation for the test and gratitude for being selected.
Those receiving confirmation will get a follow-up email on February 11th, 2025, containing a unique code to download the test client for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Registration for the test ran from January 10th to January 20th, 2025. Unfortunately, FromSoftware hasn't provided information on whether additional test opportunities will be available.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test
FromSoftware describes the network test as a preliminary verification to test online systems through large-scale network load tests with selected players experiencing a portion of the game. This helps assess server capacity for the full game's launch.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1 - February 14th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 2 - February 14th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
- Session 3 - February 15th, 11 AM – 2 PM PT
- Session 4 - February 16th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 5 - February 16th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
Beware: Scammers and Scalpers are Active
Reports indicate a scam circulating on Steam, where players receive fake Elden Ring: Nightreign network test invites. Clicking these leads to malicious websites, potentially compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass messages to friends. FromSoftware emphasizes that official communication only occurs through their website and social media. Any other links should be treated with extreme caution.
Furthermore, despite codes not being available until February 11th, scalpers have already begun listing "confirmed test codes" for exorbitant prices, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even auctioned.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, announced during the Game Awards 2024, is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A precise release date remains unannounced.
