Boss fights in video games can be a thrilling yet challenging ordeal, especially when you're not fully prepared. For those diving into the intense world of *The First Berserker: Khazan*, mastering the art of boss battles is crucial, particularly against formidable foes like the Blade Phantom. Here's a detailed guide on how to conquer this ghostly adversary in *The First Berserker: Khazan*.
Phase 1
As you venture through the Trials of the Frozen Mountain on Stormpass, you'll encounter the Blade Phantom, a haunting figure whose attacks will test your stamina management and combat prowess. This boss fight is spread across multiple phases, starting in a castle flooded with a crimson liquid. The Blade Phantom's arsenal includes:
- A six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, the second being a delayed attack.
- A three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick.
- A four-hit combo starting with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and ending with a leaping kick smash.
- A three-hit combo with flashing punches, followed by a grab that must be dodged.
Beyond these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing red spikes to emerge in front of it. If it switches to a spear, prepare for a quick throw and a teleporting smash. When wielding a blade, expect a swift six-hit combo. The boss can also disappear and dash around the battlefield before striking.
Mastering the timing of these attacks is key. Parry or dodge to find openings for your attacks, gradually depleting the Blade Phantom's stamina until you can execute a Brutal Attack. Continue this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, triggering the transition to Phase 2.
Phase 2
In the second phase, the Blade Phantom initiates with four claw attacks, followed by a spear throw from above. After the spear lands, evade the affected area and brace for a leaping swipe. This is followed by three greatsword slashes and a hammer smash.
While the boss retains many of its previous moves, it now includes claw attacks, a spear thrust and follow-up, and four to six sets of swift dual-wielding attacks. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when armed with the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes and the final Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol. To counter this, use the Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry successfully, restoring your stamina and exposing the boss to further attacks.
Continue to exploit the Blade Phantom's stamina depletion, initiating Brutal Attacks when the window is nearly closed to maximize damage. Victory over the Blade Phantom rewards you with 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
