In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, enhancing your character's strength can be achieved through various methods, one of which involves the strategic use of Gems. These Gems, which you can equip at any time, provide passive buffs tailored to your gameplay style and are particularly beneficial when tackling higher difficulty levels.
The process of crafting and upgrading Gems, while seeming somewhat random, can be managed to increase your chances of obtaining the specific Gems you need. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to craft and level up your Gems, as well as tips on optimizing your crafting strategy.
How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Crafting Gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins requires Pyroxene and can be done at any Inn or tent in the game. Once in your room, select the "Create Gems" option, which is the second from the top. You can use as much Pyroxene as you wish, crafting gems at a one-to-one ratio. There are five types of gems that can be crafted, with each Pyroxene having an equal chance of producing any one of them.
After crafting a base gem, it starts at level 1 and can be equipped from the Battle Preparations menu. Subsequent gems of the same type will contribute XP to the base gem, enhancing its level and potency with each upgrade. If you're not particular about which gems you get, you can use all your Pyroxene at once to craft multiple gems and level them up randomly across the board.
For players who have a preference for specific gems, there's a feature called "Eyes of the Sacred Bird." This activates randomly when crafting a single gem and limits the crafting pool to three specific gems for all Pyroxene used until you exit and re-enter the crafting menu. Although crafting one gem at a time can be time-consuming, it's a strategy you might employ to increase your chances of activating "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for the gem you're targeting.
While "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" helps reduce the randomness of Gem Crafting, it doesn't eliminate it entirely. Here are the five gems you can craft, along with their passive boosts:
Gem Name | Passive Boost |
---|---|
Oblivion Gem | Expands attack range. |
Vortex Gem | Boosts damage to enemies launched into the air. |
Scorch Gem | Boosts damage dealt to enemies with parries. |
Wellspring Gem | Restores health for every 100 enemies defeated. |
Ascendance Gem | Activates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer. |
Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Pyroxene is scattered throughout the overworld, appearing as orange crystals protruding from the ground. Interacting with these crystals will yield one Pyroxene and cause the crystal to vanish. After completing a Skirmish or Battle, some Pyroxene crystals will respawn on the overworld map, encouraging you to revisit and explore previously explored areas for new resources. Additionally, you might occasionally receive Pyroxene through letters, which you can read in your room at an Inn or a tent.
