Get ready to snuggle into a world of cozy fabrics, adorable cats, and strategic quilting! Quilts and Cats of Calico, the charming board game-inspired puzzler from Monster Couch and Flatout Games, is purrfectly poised to land on mobile devices.
Following its successful launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on February 11th, and its prior release on PC (March 2024) and Switch (December 2024), Quilts and Cats of Calico will be meowing its way onto Android and iOS on March 11th.
What's Quilts and Cats of Calico All About?
Inspired by the whimsical charm of Studio Ghibli animations, this game boasts soothing visuals that will instantly captivate you. Gameplay centers around crafting the perfect quilt by strategically matching patterns and colors. As you stitch your way to the top of the quilting hierarchy, you'll face a rival with some rather ambitious (and possibly feline-fueled) plans.
But it's not just about pretty patterns! Clever design choices are key to impressing the most discerning critics in the game: the cats themselves! Each pampered kitty has unique tastes, so your creations better be purr-fect to earn their approval (and a cozy spot in the middle of your quilt!).
Interact with these adorable felines; pet them, watch them play, or gently shoo them away when they decide your masterpiece is their new nap spot. Customize your own feline companions, choosing everything from fur color to fashionable outfits. See the game in action here:
Is it the Same as the Board Game?
While inspired by the board game Calico, Quilts and Cats of Calico isn't a direct digital adaptation. Expect new twists, including rule variations, fresh mechanics, and an all-new setting in campaign mode. The game also features cross-platform multiplayer with ranked matches, weekly challenges, and leaderboards, alongside a solo mode offering AI opponents at various difficulty levels.
