Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details for the game. If you've seen the trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below), the new additions likely won't be a huge surprise. The expanded lore delves deeper into the game's blend of comedic and serious tones, and offers further glimpses into the unique coexistence of the bizarre and the ordinary within Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive market with Neverness to Everness. While it shares similarities with other 3D open-world RPGs trending towards urban settings, it boasts several distinctive features.
One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can speed through city streets, customizing and purchasing a variety of vehicles. However, be warned: crashes are realistically impactful.
Upon release, Neverness to Everness will face tough competition from titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which occupy similar niches in the mobile 3D open-world RPG landscape.
