Next week marks a significant milestone for fans of the beloved Dungeons & Dragons series, Critical Role, as it wraps up its epic Campaign 3. The finale will be a special eight-and-a-half hour stream, featuring the talented voice actors Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, and more. Set to air on February 6 at 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern, viewers in the UK can tune in on February 7 at 3am. The stream will be accessible on Critical Role's YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as through its membership service, Beacon.
This final episode will bring closure to the adventures of the Bells Hells, a journey that began in October 2021. While no immediate spin-offs or sequels for Bells Hells have been announced, Critical Role assures fans that more tales from the expansive world of Exandria are on the horizon.
Marisha Ray, the creative director and a cast member, reflected on the end of Campaign 3, saying, "This finale for Campaign 3 marks the end of one very epic chapter of Exandrian history. But while we celebrate the end of this chapter, I think it’s important to know that the story continues with a simple turn of the page. I’m very excited to see what happens next in this story that remains to be written by the incredible emergent storytellers who are picking up the pen."
Despite the conclusion of Campaign 3, Critical Role's content schedule remains uninterrupted. A new mini-series, Exandria Unlimited, will launch its first of four episodes on February 14, keeping the momentum going with additional shows and streams planned thereafter.
As for the eagerly awaited Campaign 4, Critical Role has yet to announce its start date. Historically, there have been a few months between campaigns, with the first series, Vox Machina, ending in October 2017 and the second, Mighty Nein, beginning in January 2018. Campaign 3 followed in October 2021 after Mighty Nein concluded in June of the same year. Fans might not have to wait long for news on the next chapter, especially with Critical Role's 10-year anniversary approaching on March 12, which could serve as a perfect occasion for an announcement or even the launch of the new series.
