His family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his extensive medical bills and living expenses while he's unable to work.
According to a PC Gamer report, Johnson's wife, Kim, and family discovered him unconscious and barely alive in his hotel room after he failed to appear at a charity event he was scheduled to host for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta. Emergency responders struggled to find a pulse.
The GoFundMe campaign initially set a goal of $50,000 but has already surpassed that target significantly, raising over $144,791 from nearly 2,200 donors. Beyond his extensive video game career, Johnson has also served as the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and boasts a diverse resume in film and television.
His notable video game roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others. The gaming community and beyond are rallying to support this talented performer during this difficult time.
