Avowed: A Solo Fantasy Adventure - No Multiplayer in Sight
Avowed has been compared to Skyrim and The Outer Worlds, but one key difference is its lack of multiplayer functionality. Despite initial plans, Obsidian Entertainment ultimately removed co-op and PvP features during development, focusing instead on refining the single-player experience.
While you'll have companions to assist you, these will be non-player characters (NPCs), similar to The Outer Worlds. There are no plans for future multiplayer additions, including co-op, PvP, or invasion modes. This decision, while disappointing to some, allows Obsidian to concentrate on delivering a polished and immersive solo adventure.
While a community-created co-op mod is theoretically possible, none currently exist. The complexity of such an undertaking makes it a significant challenge, and the precedent set by Skyrim's delayed co-op mod suggests it's unlikely to appear soon, if at all.
In short: Avowed is a strictly single-player experience.
