Fortnite's cosmetic items are highly sought after, with players eagerly anticipating the return of popular skins to the in-game store. Epic Games' rotation system, while generating excitement, also creates lengthy waiting periods. The recent return of skins like Master Chief (after a two-year absence) and the original Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper (after even longer waits) demonstrates this. However, the future of certain skins remains uncertain.
The much-requested Arcane skins, featuring Jinx and Vi, exemplify this uncertainty. Following the second season's release, player demand surged, only to be met with less-than-optimistic news. Riot Games co-founder, Marc Merrill, indicated during a stream that the collaboration was limited to the first season, leaving the skins' return dependent on Riot's decision. While he expressed willingness to discuss the matter internally, he offered no guarantees.
The likelihood of these skins returning seems low. While the potential revenue would benefit Riot Games, the risk of players migrating from League of Legends to Fortnite due to the skins is a significant concern, especially given League of Legends' current challenges. The possibility of future changes exists, but for now, managing expectations is advisable.
