Remedy Entertainment Unveils Development Updates for Upcoming Titles
Remedy Entertainment recently shared progress updates on several anticipated projects, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2, and Codename Condor, in their latest financial report. The report offers insights into the development stages of each game and Remedy's overall publishing strategy.
Control 2 Reaches Production Readiness
The highly anticipated sequel, Control 2, has achieved a significant milestone: production readiness. The game is now fully playable, and the development team is scaling up production, focusing on extensive testing, performance optimization, and ensuring it meets quality standards. Additionally, the Control Ultimate Edition, developed in partnership with Apple, is slated for release on Apple silicon Macs later this year.
Codename Condor in Full Swing
Codename Condor, the multiplayer game set within the Control universe, is currently in full production. The team is actively developing multiple maps and mission types, conducting internal and limited external playtesting for feedback and validation. This marks Remedy's first foray into live-service games, and it will be launched with a fixed price model incorporating ongoing service elements.
Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake Updates
The Alan Wake 2 expansion, Night Springs, has received positive critical acclaim and player response. The base game itself has already recouped most of its development and marketing costs. A physical Deluxe Edition is set for release on October 22nd, with a Collector's Edition following in December. Pre-orders are open on the official Alan Wake website.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, a co-production with Rockstar Games, has transitioned from production readiness to full production. The team is currently working on a complete, playable version, focusing on enhancing core gameplay elements to create a unique experience.
Remedy's Future with Control and Alan Wake
Remedy has acquired full rights to the Control franchise from 505 Games, giving them complete control over its future. The company is strategically evaluating self-publishing and other business models for both Control and Alan Wake, planning to share more details before the year's end. They are exploring self-publishing options and potential partnerships for long-term growth.
Remedy emphasized the importance of its own franchises, Control and Alan Wake, connected through the Remedy Connected Universe. Expanding these franchises will be key to their future strategy, alongside their continued work on the Max Payne franchise. Further announcements regarding these franchises and their upcoming games are expected soon.
