More Dawnwalker Details Coming Soon
Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by key figures from The Witcher 3's development team, announced their publishing agreement with Bandai Namco earlier this week. Bandai Namco will serve as the global publisher for Dawnwalker, the studio's inaugural title in the "Dawnwalker" action RPG saga. Launching in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, Dawnwalker promises a captivating experience.
Dawnwalker is a story-driven AAA action RPG set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe, crafted for a mature audience. Further details on the game's features and story will be revealed by Rebel Wolves in the coming months. Established in 2022 in Warsaw, the studio's ambition is to redefine the RPG genre through immersive storytelling.
"Rebel Wolves is a unique blend of seasoned expertise and fresh talent. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, renowned for its commitment to RPGs and its willingness to support new IPs, is the perfect partner for us," commented Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, Tomasz Tinc, in the official press release. "We share a common vision, and their track record in publishing narrative-driven RPGs is exceptional. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with them to bring the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to gamers globally."
Bandai Namco expressed their enthusiasm, viewing Dawnwalker as a valuable addition to their portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, VP of business development, stated, "This partnership marks a significant step in our content strategy for the Western market. By combining our strengths, we will ensure this debut title reaches a global audience."
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a veteran from CD Projekt Red and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, leads Rebel Wolves as creative director. Jakub Szamalek, co-founder and narrative director, who also boasts extensive experience at CD Projekt Red, confirmed Dawnwalker as a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, offering a non-linear narrative.
Tomaszkiewicz highlighted the game's replayability, stating earlier this year, "Our goal is to create an experience that allows for diverse choices and encourages experimentation on subsequent playthroughs. Working alongside such a talented team to achieve this vision is incredibly exciting, and I can't wait for everyone to see the team's hard work."
