Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe! This significant rework breathes new life into the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion receive a dramatic visual upgrade. Land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors equally at home in water and (though somewhat slower) on land. This update introduces flooded terrain, a game-changer allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Buildings have also received an aquatic makeover. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, creating ideal bases for seafaring dominance. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion arsenal, function similarly to land-based crops.
New Aquatic Combatants
Prepare for encounters with new sea creatures! Sharks deliver surprise attacks, puffers provide long-range bombardments, and jellies shock enemies with electric attacks. Fan favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, return, with Crabs now flooding the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See it all in action:

Midjiwan's revitalization of the Aquarion Tribe is truly impressive. Note that Lost Cities now appear at level 3, complete with pre-built walls.
