Konami Teases MGS4 for PS5 and Xbox
MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?
In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura subtly acknowledged the intense fan interest in seeing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remastered and released on modern platforms. While remaining officially silent on concrete plans, Okamura's comments, coupled with the release of Master Collection Vol. 1, strongly suggest a sequel is in the works.
"We're aware of the demand for MGS4," Okamura stated. "With Vol. 1 encompassing MGS 1-3, you can probably infer what we might be working on. We're focused on the future of the series. More details later!"
The possibility of an MGS4 remake or port for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC has been a topic of much discussion among fans. The PS3 exclusive's potential inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2 is further fueled by past reports of placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appearing on Konami's official timeline. IGN also reported that these titles are likely candidates for Vol. 2.
Adding fuel to the fire, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project last November. While Konami remains tight-lipped, the collective evidence points towards a highly anticipated MGS4 remake or port being a strong possibility for Master Collection Vol. 2.
