Hunting AI animals in Ecos La Brea can be challenging, even more so than tracking down other players. Here's how to successfully hunt them:

Mastering the Art of Stealth Hunting

Stealth is paramount. Use the scent button to locate nearby AI animals, indicated by animal icons. A meter will appear when you crouch, showing how close you are to startling the animal. Movement directly impacts this meter:

  • Sprinting: Meter fills instantly.
  • Running: Significant meter increase.
  • Trotting: Slower meter fill.
  • Walking: Slowest meter fill – ideal for approach.

Wind direction is crucial. Downwind approaches spook animals quickly; crosswind is moderate, while upwind provides the best stealth.

Reading the AI's Clues

A question mark occasionally appears above the animal icon. Moving while the question mark is visible accelerates meter filling. Remain stationary until it disappears to maintain stealth.

The Chase and the Catch

The meter will likely fill before you reach the AI. Be ready to sprint – it's essential for catching the fast-moving AI. Their erratic movements require practice. Open fields with minimal obstacles are recommended hunting grounds.

Get extremely close to the AI to initiate the bite. Once captured, drop and consume your prey. Repeat the hunt until satiated.
