Path of Exile 2's Hidden Golden Idols: A Guide to Act 3's Secret Riches
Path of Exile 2 boasts a wealth of quests, but some remain cleverly concealed, bypassing the quest log entirely. This is the case with the five Golden Idols scattered throughout Act 3. While labeled as Quest Items, their function is far from typical. Unlike most Quest Items, collecting a Golden Idol won't update your quest log. Furthermore, instead of advancing a questline for a reward, these idols offer a unique alternative: a substantial gold payout.
Locating the Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
After completing the initial exploration of the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment in Act 3, a portal will transport you to the past, specifically Utzaal—the once-magnificent Vaal city, now known as The Drowned City. While the city's grandeur is captivating, remember your objective: the Golden Idols.
These valuable items are hidden within Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat. Three are located in Utzaal itself, with the remaining two in Aggorat. They won't drop from enemies; instead, look for them on the ground or on pedestals, often tucked away in side rooms.
- Utzaal Golden Idols:
- Glorious Idol
- Golden Idol
- Grand Idol
- Aggorat Golden Idols:
- Exceptional Idol
- Elegant Idol
Cashing In Your Discoveries
Once you've acquired a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment. Not just any vendor will deal in these unique items; you need to find Oswald, located in the northern part of the encampment. He'll appraise your find, and you can then sell them through his Buy & Sell interface for a handsome sum:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Collecting all five Idols nets you a total of 6000 Gold. Given their relatively small inventory size and lack of other uses, it's advisable to sell them immediately after discovery to free up valuable space.
