Final Fantasy 16 Mods Requested to Avoid Being

Speaking in a recently published interview with PC Gamer, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) made one request from the Final Fantasy player community. And that's to not "make or install" otherwise “offensive or inappropriate” modifications as Final Fantasy 16 launches on the PC tomorrow.

Funnily enough, it was director Hiroshi Takai whom PC Gamer asked whether he'd like to see any "particularly goofy" modifications made by the Final Fantasy modding community, but Yoshi-P stepped in and made clear exactly what types of modifications they wish won't ever come to fruition in the game.

"If we said 'It'd be great if someone made xyz,' it might come across as a request, so I'll avoid mentioning any specifics here!" Yoshida stated in the interview. "The only thing I will say is that we definitely don't want to say anything offensive or inappropriate, so please don't make or install anything like that."

As the director of other Final Fantasy titles, it's highly likely that Yoshi-P has seen certain mods that may otherwise be deemed as "inappropriate," if not "offensive." Over onto the different online modding community spaces, such as Nexusmods and Steam, one can quickly look up a myriad of Final Fantasy mods—ranging from ones that modify game graphics to ones for crossover cosmetics, like the Half-Life Costume mod for FF15.

However, not everything is all fun, and "appropriate" to be shown to the rest of the player community—yes, NSFW mods do circulate in the modding community. Though again, Yoshi-P didn't specify exactly what types of mods he's referring to but these kinds of mods do fall into the "offensive or inappropriate" category. One such mod for instance can customize certain characters with "High quality nude body mesh replacement" with "4K materials."

Final Fantasy 16 on PC has an increased frame rate cap to up to 240fps, along with various upscaling technologies—a milestone for the team—that rolls out for PC heads Tomorrow as the game releases, and Yoshi-P just seems to want to keep it respectful all around.
