Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a highly requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios has confirmed development of this UI improvement, absent from the game's launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential near-term arrival. This news follows a recent January 9th update addressing various Multiplayer and Zombies bugs, including UI and audio fixes, and a boost to XP rewards in the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, this update also reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." The absence of this popular Modern Warfare 3 feature in Black Ops 6 had disappointed many players, especially those pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality mirrors Modern Warfare 3, providing a real-time in-game challenge tracker accessible via the UI, allowing players to monitor progress without waiting for match completion.
More Improvements in Development
Further enhancements are also underway. Treyarch acknowledged a player request for separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, confirming this feature is "also in the works," eliminating the need for constant HUD adjustments between game modes. These updates promise to significantly improve the Black Ops 6 player experience.
