Assassin's Creed Shadows' March 2025 Release Date: A Closer Look
Ubisoft has announced another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14th launch, this latest postponement—a five-week shift—aims to further refine and polish the game based on player feedback.
The game's journey to release has been marked by delays. The first, announced in September 2024, moved the launch from November 15th to February 14th, 2025. While the initial delay cited the need to improve the game, this second delay specifically emphasizes incorporating player feedback. Marc-Alexis Coté, the game's vice president executive producer, stated Ubisoft's commitment to delivering a high-quality experience through ongoing player-developer communication. Both delays, however, share the common goal of providing more time for refinement and polishing.

Following the September announcement, Ubisoft offered pre-order refunds and free access to the first expansion for those who pre-ordered. Whether similar incentives will accompany this latest delay remains unannounced, although the shorter timeframe might lessen player frustration compared to the previous three-month postponement.
This additional delay might also be linked to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its practices, launched to improve player focus and address recent disappointing sales figures and record losses. Prioritizing player feedback in Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a direct result of this initiative.
